PJM's flexible-resource redefinition heads to Members Committee Aug. 19
PJM proposes to narrow its Flexible Resource definition, which determines whether an inflexible resource can still draw Lost Opportunity Cost credit when PJM reduces or suspends it for reliability reasons; the item is dated for PJM's Members Committee on August 19.
PJM's proposal would refine the Flexible Resource definition to require flexibility on all available schedules.1
A resource that is not flexible on all of its available schedules would be treated as inflexible for real-time operation and Lost Opportunity Cost purposes.2
Under PJM's proposal, inflexible resources are eligible for Lost Opportunity Cost credit if PJM reduces or suspends them in real time because of a transmission constraint or other reliability reason.3
